“I want to go abroad”… Theft occurred again during investigation into theft of a donation box for needy neighbors.


A woman who was under police investigation for stealing a collection box to help needy neighbors at a bank was eventually arrested for stealing another collection box from a community center.

Jeju Eastern Police Station announced on the 28th that it arrested A, a woman in her 40s, on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (theft). Mr. A is suspected of stealing two ‘love collection boxes’ that were used to donate money to help needy스포츠토토 neighbors at a community center in Jeju City around 1pm on the 18th.

Ms. A carried her entire fundraising box in a shopping bag she had prepared in advance, and it was found that the fundraising box contained approximately 120,000 won. The police, who began an investigation after receiving a report from her community center, caught Ms. A on the 20th.

Mr. A had already been booked on charges of stealing four donation boxes to help needy neighbors while visiting banks in the Jeju area from the 1st to the 4th. It was found that he took the donation box left at the counter while the bank employee was away or busy.

The police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A due to concerns about recidivism, and the warrant was recently issued by the court.

When Mr. A was investigated for the previous crime, he said, “I needed living expenses because my basic welfare recipient benefits were cut off,” but this time, he reportedly stated, “I committed the crime to buy a plane ticket to go abroad.”

The police are investigating the details of the incident against Mr. A.
