Israeli forces mistakenly bomb Egyptian positions near Gaza… Some Injuries (Comprehensive)

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), which is at war with the Palestinian armed faction Hamas, announced on the 22nd (local time) that it had mistakenly bombed an Egyptian position near the southern border of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military said in a statement that day, “A military tank accidentally shot at an Egyptian guard post near the Kerem Shalom area.”

He added, “We have begun an investigation into this incident and are reviewing the details,” and added, “The IDF expresses regret over this incident.”

Local Egyptian media predicted that the accidental bombing would not cause any disruption in the entry of relief supplies through the Rafah border checkpoint connecting southern Gaza and Egypt.

Meanwhile, Al-Qassam Brigades, a Hamas military organization, repelled armed Israeli troops through an ambush east of the Khan Younis area in southern Gaza, Egyptian state-run daily Al-Ahram reported on this day.

Al-Qassam Brigades claimed, “Our mujahideen (holy Islamic warriors) confronted the infiltrating troops and defeated the enemy, destroying two bulldozers and a tank.”
